Administrative and Program Assistant

The Androscoggin Valley Council of Governments (AVCOG) located in Auburn, Maine a regional planning and development organization is seeking a full-time, experienced, self-motivated person to provide administrative and program support to the agency. 

The administrative and program assistant will perform general office tasks including reception duties and assisting staff with various requests. Responsibilities include general administrative and clerical support including maintaining electronic and hard copy files, maintaining office supplies, processing incoming and outgoing mail, performing data entry, assisting with correspondence, scheduling and coordinating meetings, preparing meeting material, and assisting with event organization. Generating and distributing agency informational materials by email, web/social media, and print. Respond to information technology issues and troubleshoot where possible, coordinate with IT support as needed. 

AVCOG is seeking candidates with a positive and professional attitude, ability to problem solve and manage multiple tasks at once, excellent attention to detail, exceptional client service skills, and the ability to work independently and within a team environment. 

High School Diploma required, Associates degree preferred or past experience that is commensurate for the position. Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on administrative support or clerical office experience. Must be competent in office related tasks and proficient in Microsoft applications.
